Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026
Cafe Colonial Entertainment (“we,” “us”) operates The Colonial Theater, Cafe Colonial and Colonial Presents in Sacramento, California. This policy explains what personal information we collect through colonialpresents.com, ticket sales for our shows, our email list and our venues, and how we use and share it.
Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Ticket purchases: your name, email address, and any other details requested at checkout, such as answers to order questions. Payment card details are handled by our ticketing and payment providers; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Email list sign-ups: your full name, email address and phone number.
- Private event inquiries: your name, contact information and the details of the event you are planning.
- Messages: anything you include when you email, call or message us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our partners collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the links and buttons you click, and the site that referred you. This is collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies, and through our website host’s standard logs.
Information collected at our venues. We photograph and film many of our shows, and audience members may appear in those photos and videos. Our venues may be monitored by security cameras. Staff may look at your ID to confirm your age for 18+ and 21+ shows; we do not scan or keep ID information.
How we use your information
- Sell tickets, run our shows and admit you to events.
- Send you order confirmations and important updates about shows you have tickets for, such as time changes or cancellations.
- Send our newsletter and announcements about upcoming shows, if you have signed up or bought tickets. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Respond to your questions and private event inquiries.
- Advertise our shows, including on Facebook and Instagram, and measure how well our website and advertising work.
- Promote our venues with photos and videos from our shows, including on this website and social media.
- Keep our venues, staff and guests safe, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
Ticketing through SquadUp
Tickets for our shows are sold through SquadUp, which processes payments with its payment partners, including Stripe. When you buy tickets, SquadUp collects your information under its own privacy policy and shares your order information with us as the event host. We then handle that information as described in this policy. You can read SquadUp’s privacy policy and Stripe’s privacy policy.
Cookies, the Meta Pixel and advertising
Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). It tells Meta when you visit our pages, click certain buttons, start checkout and buy tickets. We use this to show our ads to people likely to be interested in our shows and to measure how those ads perform. Meta may combine this with other information it has about you, as described in Meta’s privacy policy.
Artist and promoter pixels. When an artist or promoter of a show asks us to, we add their own Meta Pixel to that show only. Their pixel receives page views of that show’s event page, checkout starts for that show, and purchases of tickets to that show, including the ticket value and quantity. It never receives information about other shows, and it stops at the end of the day of the show’s last date. The artist or promoter uses that information under Meta’s terms and their own privacy practices.
Your choices. You can limit ad tracking in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info. Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as SquadUp (ticketing), Stripe (payments), Cymbal (email marketing), Meta (advertising) and our website hosting provider. They may use it only to provide their services to us, subject to their own privacy policies.
- Artists and promoters of a show, through their Meta Pixel as described above. We may also share the contact details of ticket buyers for a show with that show’s artists or promoters, so they can contact you about that show and related events.
- Advertising platforms: we may provide customer email addresses or phone numbers to Meta in a protected (hashed) form so we can show our ads to existing customers or people similar to them.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our guests, staff or others.
- Business transfers: if our business or venues are sold or reorganized, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Text messages
We do not currently send text messages. If we start, we will ask for your separate consent before texting you, and you will be able to opt out at any time. We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Photos and video at our shows
By attending a show, you may appear in photos or video taken by us or by the artists performing. If you would like a photo of you removed from our website or social media accounts, email john@colonialpresents.com and we will make reasonable efforts to do so.
Children and age-restricted shows
We host all-ages, 18+ and 21+ shows. Our website and ticket sales are intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email john@colonialpresents.com and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. For example, we keep ticket records for accounting and customer service, keep email list details until you unsubscribe, and keep private event inquiries so we can follow up and plan future events. We keep security camera footage only as long as needed for safety and legal purposes.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, and we rely on established providers for ticketing, payments and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email to stop receiving them. We may still send messages about tickets you have bought.
- Access, correction and deletion: email john@colonialpresents.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to keep some information to complete transactions or meet legal obligations.
- California residents: under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may ask once a year whether we have shared your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing in the prior calendar year, and with whom. Email john@colonialpresents.com with “Shine the Light” in the subject line.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, including SquadUp, social media and artists’ pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on our website.
